My Experience Using Notion app; How to Avoid Procrastination while Staying Productive
Have you ever wished the 24-hour limit could be extended, and that at least 48-hour limit won't be a greedy request? I understand you have quite a lot to achieve just within a common space of 24 hours. With huge pending works to do from company, to your part-time jobs, to research and case studies to be carried out, to family and friends time, to lots of other good things that need your attention, and some times you feel demoralized because you are not able to meet up.
All for the sake of being successful in life, we face so much huddles, one of which is the procrastination huddle. Procrastination is like a silent-killer disease that deceives you to enjoy for the moment, but get back at yourself the next. You sure have been in that scenario where you just don't feel like doing anything, but later you regret why you never did something. Literally everyone, me too, has been there, just like you. But the good news is; that huddle too can be jumped over, "Procrastination can be conquered", if you get determined.
Have you been battling with procrastination? This article right here, is to salvage. I will be making open How you can avoid Procrastination and my experience using Notion.
How You Can Avoid Procrastination:
1.Track and Record Your Progress:
By tracking and record, I mean for every single day, you have to allocate specific time to every single activity you will be doing, to as the slightest as taking your bath. For instance,
- Tomorrow, I will take my bath once it is 8am
- I will read once it is 9am
- I will work on my article at 11am
By this, you know that your bathing should not elapse one hour, reading should not elapse two hours alotted, etc... However, you are also making sure not to give more time to tasks that just requires lesser commitment and vice versa.
2.Set Priorities:
The truth is that there are so many things to be done but another truth is that you do not have to do all of them. Set your priorities in task, make the most important ones come first while others can come later. This organizes your mind and helps you not become overwhelmed and swayed off by the amount of things that still needs to be done. Try setting Priorities or Focus tasks for each day.
3. Technology:
This sounds a little complex but apparently the simplest and most important if you really want to fight procrastination. Technology has made it quite easy that you can set goals, set priorities, track your progress, and set reminders altogether. You would want to check out apps like Notion, Evernote, and lots others that are built with maximum Productivity aids. I personally tried the Notion app, and boyyy!! am I sticking to it. You possibly like to know my experience using this app
Here is My experience Using Notion:
For the past few weeks, Mr. Procrastination and I have been in this daring fist-to-fist wrestle. You know that moment when you realize that you've been very busy doing NOTHING, and cannot actually trace a comprehensive productivity plan?
Before I complete the story, here is rough rundown of some projects I worked on and some I still have at hand: ✅Provide about 5K words(1K words/article) per week for my SEO blog writing job.
✅Write engaging Tech articles to publish on my personal blog twice every week.
✅Send out proposals on Upwork and job applications on other sites(this can truly be draining, but I work with high hopes )
✅Frontend projects to work on (currently building a QR code_generator with my project team at Zuri)
✅Books to read for the month like; Managing Your Emotions by Joyce Meyer, Share your work! by Austin Kleon
✅Served as Team lead for a project on cloning Twitter homepage (the leadership skill has always been my thing, so don't be surprised) ...and some others
I always had all these on my mind, hoping to achieve something, but each time the week runs down, and me getting on to check how much I achieved for that week leaves me completely flabbergasted! I find out I've either done none out of my schedule or been busy on just one task, and the work was not balanced, even though I wanted it to be.
I had to question myself and discovered I really needed a plan to stay productive.
Nonetheless, this "mishap" only happened for the past few weeks, but fast forward to last week and this week; after drafting the new productivity plan,
I checked and found out I just hit 90% of my goals!
-I have about 4K words ready for the SEO blog I work for
-I have published 2 articles for this week on my personal blog
-Sent out multiple job applications this week, and hopeful for favor and good luck
-Read the book by Joyce Meyer, currently on 196/349 pages
-and Working on getting things set for the Frontend project
I am excited, not just that I hit these goals, but that I am able to track my growth! The Notion app made it possible for me and I say thanks to Technology once again!!!
CONCLUSION: There are mobile applications already available to help you get more organized, remind you of planned events, and altogether help you avoid procrastination. Make wise use of Technology! Do leave a comment, if you find this helpful.
